So a couple of notes...it seems like a lot of games were posted at times that nobody could play in. And the other complaint was people not being able to commit until they had actual free time.
Someone requested a Games on Demand type thing. So my proposed solution:
I created a Games on Demand Catagory on the jackercon discord. It contains two things:
- A voice channel called "ready to play" - this will show you who
is actively in the channel and ready to play, run, whatever. If you
want to play right now, stop reading this and go there!
- A #logistics chat channel. This channel is for people in the "Ready to Play" voice channel to send links for information on their games. Links to Roll20, Fantasy Grounds, another discord server, ect. aka... logistics.
So the idea here is a more fluid design. If you have time to kill, feel free to hop into the "ready to play" channel. If enough people show up, pitch some games, and go forth and play!
As for my Jackercon experience.... I only had time to run a game. I had 3 of 4 players, ( the 4th dropped last minute). We ran for about 3 hours and had a blast. We are continuing the game via PbP and additional live sessions when schedules line up )
