I love reading books about gamemastering, like 'Play Unsafe' and 'Robin Laws' of Good Game Mastering', but recently realized that I've only read books by male authors.
Does anyone have a recommendation for gamemastering books by female authors? :-)
Jonas_Larsson has Shanna Germain done anything... I know she did a how to Kickstarter book.
Jonas_Larsson Hmmm........ Interesting observation......
I can see it now:
"Game Like an Amazon! By Kimi"
Chapter 1: Con prep? What's that?
OFTHEHILLPEOPLE I did enough con prep with the laser ponies game to average out all my other games.
Also, I do Con prep, it’s just all the night before the con. Who needs sleep anyway!
Chapter 2: you think Murder Hobo's are bad. have you met the Happy Jackers?
I am legit thinking about this now.
Does Felicia Day count?
Stork I mean.. she’s a woman, so yes. Did she write a book about GMing?
Kimi I mean.. she’s a woman, so yes.
Are you sure? Some people think the is the Devil, with her apostle Matt Mercer
Also relevant: Does she do any GMing? Celebrities writing books about things they don't actually know anything about isn't terribly uncommon, but they are commonly terrible.
Haven't any of the Contessa people written anything on GMing?
Edit: To answer my own question; looks like they've mostly been blogging, not writing books. A shame - I think they could have quite a few valuable insights into the matter.
BattleMatt I'm surprised about this too!
Perhaps Ms. Frost from Dark Dungeons wrote something on the subject...
Huh... I don't think I've ever thought about the fact that the GM and two main players in that game are women. Interesting choice since back then there probably weren't very many women players.
Definitely plays into the "witch" trope and the idea of innocent girls being lured into witchcraft.
uncommonman Oh yeah! The grand old lady of swedish roleplaying! If we're talking swedish creators, there is also a good chance that Åsa Roos has written something about GMing.
