Fantastic episode, and thanks to the panel for their insight and perspectives.
I’m definitely going to have to make a list of fan-casts to draw from when describing PCs/NPCs in my games moving forward.
While i’m not super familiar with the specifics, Pathfinder 2e seems to have some degree decoupled mechanics and “race”, it seems like there are still certain options available for elves/dwarves/etc, but it’s a pool of traits that you choose several from, and you get mechanical stat adjustments based upon class and background.
Another version i’ve seen is a kin (who you’re related to), culture (the environment you’re from), and career (what you did) combo from a World of Dungeons hack Adam Koebel did for his Court of Swords setting.
Eric, thanks for the link, I’ll have to dig through it before my 5e game gets back up and rolling next month and will be sharing it to my fellow players and GMs. ?
